I’m so excited. My latest hack is finally ready for release! So without further ado, I present to you:

Prop Attachment Hack

The Pie Menu

This hack allows you access to many game accessories on demand. I like to call them props because they’re not accessories like the kind you’d find under glasses. Props are things like the Champagne glass, Fingerprint scanner or Scythe. This allows your sims to hold these props while doing other animations. For instance, now you can have your sims talk while holding a gun in hand… dance with a gun in hand… cry with a gun in hand… really the possibilities are near endless!

When adding a prop, you have a choice of either adding it temporarily or permanently. This is more of a technical issue, but temporarily means it’s attached to your sim’s hand so it’ll always be positioned correctly no matter the animation. The drawback is that the object will dissapear as soon as your sim finishes an interaction. So to counter this, I added the permanent option which actually attaches the object to the wrist. This means however that the mesh had to be modified to still appear in the hand, but the result is that it won’t always look great when used with something other than the appropriate “pose” animation that I used as reference.

Pose animations are responsible for animating your sim’s arms. The cool thing is that it’s actually an overlayed animation: your sim will keep the pose while other body parts still do other animations. Each prop has a pose animation that can be started and stopped. You can even mix them for some cool combo’s!

Further more there’s also a “stand” option which loops continuously. The idea here is that you can use it with objects that only have “Add temporarily” options like the guns, so that they won’t dissapear. Then there’s also a “Remove prop” option to remove a prop. Please note that the handcuffs have their own seperate remove option which needs to be used.


The complete list of props are:

– Champagne glass (Crystal and a Silver recolor)
– Espresso cup
– Coffee mug
– OFB shopping bags (Blue, Brown, Gold without simolean signs and two new recolors)
– Fingerprint scanner
– All Vampcat’s holdable guns
– Scythe
– Microphone
– Handcuffs
– Repoman’s gun
– Police nightstick
– Water glass
– Shopping basket
– Meat cleaver (Free mesh from http://www.amazing3d.com/free/free.shtml)
– Bar tumbler

You need all expansions for the hack to work properly, although I believe that if you don’t have a particular EP, all props associated with it just won’t appear when you try to add it. You also need to go and download Vampcat’s guns for them to show; they’re not included in the zip file.

I’d suggest extracting the zip file into a seperate folder in your Downloads folder so that if you ever needed to remove something you’d know where to find it. The actual object is a cloned Red vs. Blue painting which is found under Hobbies/Misc. The lady in the picture is someone very close to my heart :whistle: ;)

This hack has really come a long way and I’m so glad it’s finally finished. I’ve wanted something like this for a while but after no one responded to my requests, I decided to try and make it myself which was hard seeing as there’s no big guide to hacking; you find bits a pieces here and there as you go along.

I’d just like to thank Decorgal for the shopping bag recolors and bloody cleaver, Echo for his words of advice, and Vampcat for allowing me to add his awesome guns. Also thank you to the people who tested this and listened to my constant rants lol

    This is incredible!! Thank you so much for this! Wow, just looking at your awesome screencaps shows the potential for this. I love the pose of the sim with her arms crossed and the gun in her hand. Wicked. Also, very creative idea to have that one sim use the microphone as she acts as a news reporter.

    I’ve already downloaded this and I can’t wait to test it out the next time I play. Thanks again for your hard work!

    For the love of God, thank you SO freaking much for making this. I’m getting ready to start a sim story, so this helps a lot.

    Query: Out of curiosity, have you thought about contacting Rose from RoseSims2 to see about using her swords and other weapons? I would love to see that in a future update (if you plan any, that is), as it would help for another story I want to do (I need the use of her swords for it, and changing appearaces to find the sword each time sucks, but alas, you know that).

    Ruth, I do plan on adding some more props at some point and I definitely want to add more “unique” things like swords and other weapons of torture :naughty: The problem with Rose’s accessories is that they aren’t attachable objects, not like the Champagne Glass anyway. They’re not objects that are attached through animations. The only way I could add them would be to use her meshes directly, and I doubt she’d allow me to do that. But I’m looking through some sites with free meshes for my own swords ;)

    Yeah the site is down (if you go to the sims2workshop homepage it shows you a message). Best thing to do is wait until it’s up again. I unfortunately dont have Vampcat’s permission to distribute those files.

    Please note, there seems to be some sort of compatability issue when you have just the base game and no EP’s. I’m not sure why this is or which expansion pack you need, sorry. You don’t need any other hacks, simpe or vampcat’s guns for the hack to show up (although you do need the latter for it to function correctly).

    This animaton hack is so cool. da Bomb! I created a scenario where Nina Caliente was so enraged with jealousy she created mayhem in which she stole his personal belongings. I used your animation hacks where the hand cuffs came in use ;) )) she had them (Don,Kalynn and the new maid ahem..held hostage. No violence..except for fduking it out was used. :)
